I recently picked up this antique brass antique bottle opener. It is very heavy brass. It reads "KINSEY," and a friend has one of the same design that reads "DOWNING." They are really great openers. I have seen modern replicas of this style for some breweries, but does anyone know of the origin of these antique openers? And where can I find more to add to my pending collection?

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I came across a collection of three of these at a yard sale on Saturday. I paid a quarter for all three of them. I was wondering if antique brass openers like these are common or rare?

Wow. So you paid a little over 8 cents each for them. Which is great, because I paid more like $40.
