70%-30%

I know we tasted Rogue DGA and everyone enjoyed it quite a bit, but I thought Mirror Pond PA was suppose to be great. I actually am going to try Mirror Pond as soon as I can, although I'de rather find it on tap around here but I doubt that is possible.

I've had Mirror Pond... really, it was just okay. A little light on the hop profile for me. Dead Guy is one of the two beers that I've been most excited about (along with Deschutes' Obsidian Stout) since the beginning of the year. It's not BAD; it's just unremarkable if you ask me.

Take the BoB results with a grain of salt. Few who vote have tried or have ready access to all of the beers in the challenge. Some won't bother to research the beers - they vote based on name recognition.

Hell, just this morning, I voted for New Glarus. Never had it, but I don't enjoy Victory Golden Monkey, so I went with the unknown that I've read some good things about. Unfair? Maybe. But it's a contest - nothing huge at stake, imo. All in fun...

Cheers!

I've had both brews direct from the breweries. I'm not a huge Dead Guy fan, although I really love Rogue's beers. Dead Guy's flavor profile IMO is quite one dimensional, lots of malt, very little hops, not the balance that I enjoy. On the other hand, Mirror Pond is slightly better according to my taste buds. I'm guessing I favor it more just because the hops come through a bit stronger. I've also had several variations - dry hopped, double dry hopped, cask conditioned, nitro infused. Variety is the spice of life. I'll always take a Mirror Pond over a Dead Guy, that just my $.02 though.

I drink both beers regularly as they are widely available here, Dead Guy is a far superior beer imo.

Rogue's Brutal Bitter reigns supreme, as well as their Imperial Stout. Rogue has a tap room in SF. we always visit when we come to the city.

Brutal Bitter was a runner-up to the championship just a few years back. Haven't had it yet, though.

My friend and beer sensei "Donna the Beer Girl" has been hooked on Dead Guy for a couple of weeks now. This is the first time I've seen her buy the same beer for more than 1 week in a row, so I am not surprised.
