It's supposed to be the Gales Festive Mild this week. If anything changes I'll post here.

I'm planning on coming this time! Who else?

I'm feeling a bit under the weather.

I must need some cask beer!

Just saw this:

Sorry for the late notice but I was on Vacation/Beer Festival in Miami last
weekend and couldn't get this out until today. Tom C. mentioned the Allagash
Beer Dinner Wednesday at Tuskies. We are also doing one tonight at the Reef
in Adams Morgan in DC. It should be pretty incredible.
Rob Tod, President and Brewmaster of Allagash (and arguably the nicest guy
in the beer business), will be on-hand presenting his beers with the great
food from the Reef. We will be featuring two special beers in addition to
his other great brews-
1.Allagash Odyessey- Rob's latest offering. It is a dark, Belgian-style,
high-gravity wheat beer aged in New Oak barells. 10% abv
2. We will be also featuring the only cask-conditioned firkin ever produced
of Allagash Four. If you have not had this beer it is very complex- 10% abv.
Four malts, Four hops, Four yeast strains, Four sugar types, fermented Four
times.

The Beers-
Allagash Speicale (Draft)
Allagash White (Draft)
Allagash Triple (Draft)
Allagash Curieux (Bourbon Triple)
Allagash Odyssey
Allagash Grand Cru (Draft)
Allagash Four (Cask-Conditioned Firkin)

This should be an amazing time, change your plans (like you had any on a
Tuesday!) and join us...

Actually, I thought Brian said last week that it was another cask of Dark Knight, because they brought him two of them. Might be worth calling before you make plans.

That said, I really liked the Dark Knight.

Well I'd like to try the Dark knight too. I'll head down but may call first. Will you be there again?

Planning on coming tonight, if my editors don't conspire against me. Anybody figure out what's actually going to be on tonight?

I called and it is the York Dark Knight again this evening.

Hmm, well, I'm a bit disappointed in that I was anticipating something new, but I enjoyed the brew so much last time around that I can't in good conscience say no. I should be there, barring any strangeness.... one story left to write today, hopefully editors will be merciful.

K.

(Wonder if he'll put on a British cask next Thurs? UK beer for St. Pat's Day?)

I told my buddy that the cask was not the Gales so he suggested we go to the MJ tasting Tuesday at RFD instead. We can take Metro to that. I'm fearful of drinking and driving.

So who actually went last night? I'm am well and truly sick. Instead of tasty beer I had 1000mg of Amoxocylin and a wee lie down.

BTW Chaz, the Reef is not that far from the Metro. It's just across the bridge from the Woodley Park/Zoo/Adams-Morgan stop. 15-20 minute walk tops. Plus if you can stop off at Murphy's and grab a quick pint of Guinness to get you across the bridge.

Katefan00

Or Murphy's! First place I ever had Murphy's was at, well, Murphy's.

Didn't end up making it. Damned work kept me here too late. Plan to try to make the next one though.

I bought tix from old friend Dave Alexander last night for next Tuesdays Michael Jackson tasting. I did not want to be drinking out ANYWHERE next Thursday. St. Paddy's is not a good night to get into any bar. And I'm not fond of being under the watchful eye of the men in blue that night either.

Anyone going to the MJ Tastings?

Here is the MJ Line up....

Tickets for the Michael Jackson event are now on sale! Only $30 gets you a seat for Michaels sampling and comments on at least TEN great craft brewers for your choice of Tuesday the 15th or ( AND/or) Wednesday the 16th. Here's a list of who is coming when, we may actually have a couple more breweries add onto the programs, there are 5 or 6 that still haven't confirmed yet! Yeeeeks!

we're going to the Michael Jackson "Celebration of Hops" on Monday at the National Geographic in DC. Perhaps I should go to the other 2 as well...make a week of it.

The guy must have a cast iron liver.

Thanks for the offer Chaz...I have to give a presentation to a client early on Wednesday morning, so I had better give my liver the night off!

Hope you and your buddy enjoy it - it looks like a good line-up. I've no idea what's on for tonight's bash at the National Geographic Soc.
Something hoppy you would think?

Tickets don't go on sale till 31 March. I don't know if the game will sell out, Solider Field is huge, but good tickets will be hard to come by. I'm definitely going. Football, Goose Island? Come on, it's a must. Plus the wife's already given me permission! :)

My friend has somehow come down with MFC's affliction (he also feels like ass) and won't be able to make it - he had 2 tickets.

I am on the mend, thanks.

I'd love to go tonight but I think I'd better still lay low for a day or two. If anyone who goes thinks of it, can they ask him about "Beer Hunter" on dvd or a follow up series.

I'll be miffed if they serve the Gales on St. Paddys day at the Reef. I'm hoping they do not get it in until next week.

I know I won't. I'd like to do the Beamish, Murphys, Guinness side by side at home but I have not shopped for the Beamish or Murphys yet. I was at Union Station on Sunday and they were putting up the tents over at the Dubliner in preparation for tomorrow. I've been to both Kelly's Irish Times and the Dubliner on St. Pats day as well as the Old Brogue in Great Falls. The "Irish" word sardines comes to mind.:D Those days are long gone for me. I'll be enjoying at home wearing my orange.
