Hey all,
I'm a big fan of Widmer Bros. hefewiezen and they don't distribute anywhere in Texas. Anyone interested in trading for something down here...we've got some fantastic silver bullet. :D

Check with your local AB distro company. Widmer has entered in to a contract with AB to get their beers to more markets. If they do not have it in your area yet your call may prompt them to bring it in.

Widmer Hefe? Yech! Sorry but I think this beer is highly over-rated.

Well I guess I won't be trading with YOU! :D
Funny though, I was always the only one in my group of friends that liked it. For some reason it was always one of my favs though. Granted I haven't had it in 4 years...maybe my taste buds will be more refined now.
EDIT - I just noticed I put this thread in the Northeast section...sorry I meant to put it in the NorthWEST section as that's where their brewery is.

According to this, Texas is not yet served.
It also looks like no good highways go through Utah.

I emailed Widmer inquiring about distro. to TX. Here is their reply:
"Thanks much for your e-mail regarding the potential availability of Widmer products (and more specifically Widmer Hefeweizen) in the Lone Star State…
Alas…Texas is just a tad too far from Oregon and New Hampshire where we brew Widmer Hefeweizen for us to make any cents by distributing our product in Texas. The cost of freight from our brewing locations is just too great for us to be priced competitively with other hand crafted beers in Texas. One learns never to say never so do stay tuned to our website as we may enter the Lone Star State sooner rather than later as we are now in New Mexico and in Mississippi with Widmer Hefeweizen…"

i tried it back in '96 and thought it was great! back when it was only sold in OR. the stuff they're pushing now is not the same beer! too bad really.... however most brew pubs (that i've been to anyways) serve a hef of their own, and theyr'e not too bad usually. try you local brewpub.

Agreed. I Like Hefes and Bavarian style in particular. I had plenty of good ones. Widmer being the northern style and lackluster just does not do it for me. Especially with the lemon.
