I have read that Chimay Grande Reserve (Blue Label) is aged longer and has a different taste to the "standard" Chimay with a blue label.
I presume that Chimay Premiere (Red Label) and Chimay Cinq Cents (White Label) are likewise different to their 330ml "counterparts"?
Stupid question, most likely but I will not know until I ask and, at Australia prices, cannot just get the 750ml ones shipped to me to find out.
Thanks in advance,
Chaos.

Read where? Link? I'd like to know if there is anything definitive out there.
Unsure of why the beer in the 750s would be a different beer (recipe) from the 33cl ones. Aged longer? Perhaps, but people can age the smaller bottles if they prefer, too. As for taste, it's subjective. Yes, I notice a slight difference in mouthfeel and flavors in some beers from different packages - neither better, nor worse - just different (Allagash for one). Only way to know if you prefer one over the other is to try them and decide for yourself.
Cheers!

Chimay Grande Reserve is Chimay Blue which has been aged longer allowing it to acquire a kind of winey port sort of flavour. Yum.
If you lay down regular bottles of Chimay Blue it will acquire the same character, or so I'm led to believe. Chimay never lasts long when I'm around so I can't speak from experience :)
I have never tasted Chimay Premiere or Chimay Cinq Cents, so I can't help you there.
I know how you feel about beer prices. A 33cl bottle of Chimay Blue will set me back €3.50 in my local off licence. They tax alcohol like crazy here. Damn nanny state.

It is not so much the taxes here in Oz, but the fact that the beer has to be shipped 1/2 way around the world...
Six "run of the mill" Belg beers cost about the same as a (24 pack) carton.
It is a top drop and worth the extra but not a cheap habit to maintain.
I live in Queensland and am lucky enough to have a local bottlo who stocks a wide range of Belg beer (prob the only liqour barn in Brisbane, if not Queensland, who does).
Trouble is that they stock the (blue) Reserve 750ml bottles but not the other two; I would have to import them from another state.
Cheers,
Chaos.
