View Full Version : Corny Lid Leak?

I just got in some used cornies. However, 1 of them leaks around the edges of the lid. This is the first time I've seen one with a Plastic lid. I've changed all of the O-rings and applied keg lube. I've also tried it both directions (ie, I tried it spun 180). Bottom line, is when I try to fill it, it won't seal up or hold any pressure. It even leaks water if I hold it upside down. (It's not the pressure release valve, leaking either.)

The real kicker is that this thing was under pressure when I got it, so I know it's possible. Anybody have any other ideas on how to get this thing to stop leaking?

Thanks-

take a dime or a penny and put it under the foot of the lid, that extra bit of height will seal it up tight... I have one keg that requires a penny under each leg to seal, seems like a somewhat cheaper solution than a new lid, even if you lose the pennies every time you fill it back up...

Thanks, Danno!
I'll give it a try!
