Anyone read Julys playboy yet? IT has an "article" on American microbrews. Wow they did a crap job on this one. The picked a handfull of beers, and half of them they didnt even like. The representation of good beers really sucked. On the cover they say "the best new microbrew". IMO thegood ones werent even mentioned much less the best.

I thought good beer was finally going to get some mainstream play

Yeah - I saw the "NEW" Microbrews on the cover - including Goose Island and Dixie, among others - c'mon. :/

you can tell from the tasting notes that these guys dont drink much besides coors and miller. There were comments like "rice added in the fermentation process gives this lager more flavor"
what really pissed me off though is that they wasted space on beers they didnt like, which was half of them, some of them they said tasted like rotten fish. WTF is that? why not discard it and move on to the next, give the breweries that deserve it some play? Save the bad ones for a "worst of" type article.

Bwahahaha! Trouble is, they used to solicit Michael Jackson for articles on Beer and Scotch, guess he's too old to know good drink anymore. :/

That's ok, I did the same thing, and was really disappointed in myself for making that decision. Definitely was not worth the effort I took on reading that article.
(Wasn't a big fan if the centerfold either, but at least it wasn't that god-awful huge boobed Jordan chick they had a few months back. She was gross as hell). Kinda like this article.
