I'm looking for a good recipe to make some ice cream with stout. Any one have a favorite recipe? I would be willing to try a recipe with another beer style as well. Thanks.

Haven't made one with stout myself, but google turned up quite a few recipes... here's just a few:

French Vanilla Ice Cream with a Maple Stout Swirl:

Should be nice to try. I enjoy dropping a scoop or two of ice cream in my stout at times, (usually coffee or vanilla - but have even tried pumpkin) and it's quite enjoyable. Let us know how it turns out!

I've made Guinness Stout ice cream. Delicious! :)

What an idea! A co-worker and I keep joking we are going to open a beer and ice cream stand...I never thought of making a beer ice cream, though. I'll have to give this a try.

IIRC Newcastle Brown Ale was made into an ice cream a few years back, and was a pretty big hit.

I have never mixed them but I would think vanilla or coffee would be wonderful with a nice Guinness from the widget.

Tried 'em both - and yeah, you're right. :)

Did you use the wiget cans?

Yes, I did. Last time I bought a GXS was when someone recommended it with Oreos - couldn't quite get my tastebuds around that one, but I'll have to try it again sometime. But the cans are really mild and tasty - almost as good as on draught at Elway's!

There is something about that smooooooth creamy texture. And the subtle roastiness. It is a fine beer.

Here are two very old stouts that I have. Both are in 6.5 oz bottles.

Unfortunately, no. However, if anyone is taking a trip to the Bahamas...
S.
Cool bottles Chaz, I recently found a Guinness bottle I'd saved from the early '80s.
