Bought my first immersion wort chiller Monday, used it last night, and it worked like a charm.
No more setting kettles in snow banks for me!!!
If it were legal in Illinois to marry kitchen gadgets, I'd marry my chiller. 'Tis a thing of incomparable beauty. Uh oh, the microwave is getting jealous.

good thing you didn't go for a convoluted counterflow chiller, or even better (or worse), a plate chiller like the Therminator... there'd be Illinois cops on the lookout for immoral activities... :D

I bet the German's have a word that describes the love between a man and his machines ;)

Oh yeah - remind me to never eat ANYTHING from blatant_brewer's house.

Are you buying your supplies in the area Blatant? Or over the 'net?

So far, I've bought all my brewing supplies at Chicago's Brew and Grow on Beasley Court in Bucktown, which, in spite of all the large signs advertising its presence has to be one of the best hidden stores I've ever encoutered. It took me three tries to find the entrance.

Know it well - it's in the same building as the old Chicago Brewing, right around the corner from the Finkel Foundry where they held the last Real Ale Fest.

I thought maybe you'd found a good place - but they're pretty good themselves - not far from Goose Island or the Map Room either!

Support yer local brew shop!!!

And Steve, I've decided to attend the Chicago Beer Society meeting next week Thursday at Goose Island. I found out about the Ale tasting too late to procure tickets, alas.

I just saw what you're talking about - nice of them to let the folks on their Real Ale Fest mailing list know about this -- I never saw one announcement.

Now you can give Sparrow holy hell for me!!
