Join BeerAdvocate.com for the ultimate celebration of American craft beer! American Beer Fest will feature the best of American craft brewing, showcasing its great diversity, educating attendees, and bringing beer lovers together for two glorious beer filled days!

* Friday, June 17

VIP session (5-10pm) with an exclusive screening of "American Beer," a documentary that follows its director, Paul Kermizian, and his crew of four as they travel by minivan across the United States visiting 38 breweries in 40 days. "The cast and crew of American Beer are very happy to be having our Boston premiere at the American Beer Fest. Screening it as part of a celebration of American craft brewing provides the ideal backdrop to view the film," said Kermizian.

In addition, Friday attendees will be treated to a line-up of over 20 special beers, complimentary food, and a chance to mingle with the beer industry. Tickets are limited to 500.

The Harpoon Brewery will also debut a new beer at American Beer Fest. The 100 Barrel Series will be formulated, brewed, and packaged by The Alström Bros. "We're freagin' psyched to brew a beer with Harpoon!" exclaimed Todd Alström, Co-Founder of BeerAdvocate.com. "And fest attendees will get a chance to enjoy several versions of our beer," added Jason Alström, Co-Founder of BeerAdvocate.com. No other details are available at this time.

* Saturday, June 18

Two sessions (1-4:30pm and 6-9:30pm) featuring well-over 100 American craft-brewed beers and plenty of beer education, including guest speakers and seminars. The Alström Bros are also working on a People's Choice Poll to complement the interactive environments created at their fests.

When asked why they moved the fest date and changed the theme, Todd Alström explained: "Many forget that BeerAdvocate.com is two brothers in Boston. While we loved the concept of doing the New England Beer Fest, and we'll eventually do one, financially and logistically it's not feasible for us at the moment. We also wanted to move away from Mother's Day weekend, and we've been getting a lot of requests for a two day fest. The next slot open was Father's Day weekend, so we took it and added a day. To boot, tickets to American Beer Fest could very well be one of the best gifts to give your Dad this year! Bonding over beers. An American classic."

BeerAdvocate.com's American Beer Fest is being held on Friday, June 17 and Saturday, June 18, 2005 at The Cyclorama at The Boston Center for the Arts in Boston's Historic South End. Tickets are on-sale now. Past fests have sold-out in advance.

Wife due in July - will be dicey whether I get up to Boston for that one. But everyone else within driving distance...GET THERE! On second thought, maybe I can celebrate fatherhood a bit early and sneak out to this one.

Cheers!

June is the begining of fest season. I usually head to Stoudt's.
