I saw an ad for a "carboy washer" and said to myself "$16 for that?". So I went to Home depot, bought a 36" steel rod and some shop towels, tied two towels to the end of the rod, stuck it in my drill and low and behold, a $4 cleaning tool. Worked great. The ever sceptical wife even gave me a tumbs up.

Good solution. It's not something of a strain on the drill though, is it?

No strain on the drill and yes, take out the dip tube.
