Ancient aphrodisiac has scientists curious

If you've ever read ancient literature, you've come across the term "mead." Mead is a fermented mixture of honey, water, fruits and spices first brewed in Babylon 4,000 years ago. Consider it the world's first wine. It was also considered a powerful aphrodisiac. Now the Royal Society of Chemistry, Britain's professional association for chemists, is advertising for newlyweds to test mead's aphrodisiac powers. The Society is looking for couples to drink mead every night for 30 days (as was the custom in ancient Persia) and keep a diary of their relationship. We suppose there'll be a control group, although the article doesn't mention one. The Society plans to publish the results of its study later this year. Read the full story on CNN:
