This was a very good pale ale! I would describe it as smelling piney, but then once I get about halfway done with it and I get a whiff I can start smelling a sweetness to go along with that pine smell. Couldn't really make out the tastes other than the hops, but it wasn't overbearing, which I like, and the taste lingered in the mouth for a while, which was also nice.

Yep Scrimshaw is North Coast. We get most of their beers here. The brewpub is nice too. Been there twice.

Actually, the Scrimshaw is the pilsner that I credit with proving to me that there WAS a great malt quality to be had with a light lager. I still remember sipping one between songs at a gig last summer and just being amazed!

I'm not certain that I have ever sampled to Pranqster. What is the consensis on this beer. It is available in my area.

I also thought Scrimshaw was an excellent pilsner. Been 2 or 3 years since I last had it. Maybe one to revisit in the near future!

i was not in love with pranqster. i remember it being a bit oversweet with some strong herb/spice flavor, and not too complex. drinkable, but not what i'd consider a real tripel. if you feel like experimenting and posting a review go for it cause my memory could be off, otherwise in my opinion i'd rather get two bottles of westmalle or something.

the scrimshaw sounds like something that a newbie to the wide world of beer may find pretty good, I think i'll try this as soon as I can.

Plus, if i'm ever at some event and one of yall notices me You can just say Hey whats up Ant , or whats up trojan... either way, most people call me Ant (Just graduated from UC Irvine- Anteaters)... Instead of hey whats up MiScusi (italian for exuse me....sounds stupid).
