I love beer and cheese. I usually stick to Trappist Beers or Strong Ales like Neame's Bishops Finger, wychwood's Hobgoblin Ale or my own Porter or Barley Wine. They suit the mature Brie and Cambert I favour, as well as going nicely with very mature cheddar.
I find that a selection of beers and cheeses can only be given the attention it is due, if you make it the main meal of the day. If you want some vegetables with it, have some olives.

Beer and cheese were made for each other. Sorta like Guinness and oysters. I prefer the blue cheeses. As a matter of fact I think I'll do a pairing right now.:)

What happens if you like both beer and wine? No, I agree, beer snobdom is not yet as great as wine snobdom.
