Friend found this surfing around. I sent them an email to see if it was still on and whatnot.
Liquorama is on the Northern side of Foothill in between Mountain and San Antonio. It's right by the Ralphs, in the corner of the shopping center (center is shaped in an "L") by Lamppost Pizza. Tasting is apparently from 4pm-7pm this friday- so tomorrow.... wish I had found out earlier.

Damn! It's too bad I'm still boycotting Liquorama. That's OK though, I'm not the biggest Stone fan anyway...

Why? What did they do to you?

Their beer "expert" told a woman in front of me that czech beers "taste like Miller Lite after having been left out in the sun for a week." He then told her that hops taste gross and she should only by Scotch ales for her husband.
That day I came home with about a dozen beers, half of which were bad due to thier mishandling of stock.
A month later I bought a keg of Arrogant Bastard from them, only to learn once I got home that it had a brewing date from 5 months earlier.
I gave them one more chance when I was desperate a few months ago and bought a keg of SNPA. It also was old, and I swear I will never go there again unless I am truly, truly desperate.

This is the kind of stuff you need to make as public as possible. Beeradvocate.com has a section where you can "review" liquor stores, and I think you ought to take a few minutes and log your experiences with them so others don't make the same mistake that you did.

And, for that matter, I'd do it just so others don't get the wrong idea - look what's been posted there already! http://beeradvocate.com/beerfly/user_reviews/1823/

I'll check it out. I have a beeradvocate account, but I've never posted there before.

I can't really judge the Liquorama per se, but the guy from Stone that was hosting the tasting was a great guy. Said he was going to nail down getting Stone at Dave & Busters tomorrow, so we should see it there soon. Overall, Stone makes some pretty robust brews, not sure I was ready for that lineup yet. Got some Sierra Nevada Wheat beer, and some Lagunitas IPA at BevMo today so the quest shall continue.
They also didn't the SN Celebration ale in stock !!!:(

I was at Heroe's in Claremont a couple weeks ago and they still had the SN Celebration on tap.

I've had the Celebration for this year, and it holds up well to its legacy. I've also heard that the 2005 Bigfoot is really good this year - can anyone confirm this?

thanks Castro- I haven't been to Heroes in Claremont, usually go to the T.Phillips in La Verne (same thing just different owner or whatever).

The food is much better at Heroes. When the two split up T. Phillips had to change their menu. The beer selections are very similar though...
