How do you guys make labels? I have a label that i made on the computer but i have some questions?

Do you get it printed on glossy label paper at a store (ex. kinkos)
or
Do you print it on your own paper on your computer?

Where can i find the right paper to do this?

Please help, I want to label my creations with my own label.

in the past, I've used my inkjet printer and Avery 8163 peel and stick labels. I put my art into Word, which has templates for all the Avery standards...

Make sure to use the peel off labels as they are easier to remove from the bottle in prep for your next brew.

the few times that i've done labels, i did like danno -- just use address label stickers and some properly sized templates on the computer!

I have a software program that I use called Printmaster Platinum to make the labels. I choose a presized label that prints 6 to a 8 1/2"x11" sheet of paper, but I use just regular paper and print on my inkjet. I use a paper cutter to cut them to size and then use a glue stick to apply them to the bottle. I can see where using an Avery lable would be faster. Biggest drawback to using your inkjet printer is that the ink will run if the bottles get wet. But the labels come off quite easily. I have most of the labels I've done posted here. Does it stick well - does it release in warm water?

Yes, glue stick glue DOES stick well, and comes right off in warm water.

Use the CRAFT glue, though, if you can find it. It tends to come in larger sizes and seems to go on better and stick faster. It also comes right off in warm water.

I actually got this advice from someone on this forum early last year and had just been thinking I should come here and thank whomever it was...So thanks, whoever you are!

ps I use power point and put six copies of my label on one slide!
