Please forgive my ignorance... I just want to feel like I'm a member of the club. What makes a beer a "session" beer? Is it just something that is different enough from the norm that it makes it interesting? Or is it something that you can drink a few of without getting schnockered and still enjoy the taste? WHAT?? WHAT???!!?!?

a session beer would be a beer that you can drink for hours on end without the taste driving you nuts whilst talking with a bunch of people...i guess the schnockered part is up to your personal preferences, cuz i'd just as soon leave that part in ;)

good session beers, imnsho, are guinness, bass, east side dark, and full sail pale. stuff you can knock back hours on end without totally filling up or becoming queasy from the taste. the local brewpub i go to has an ipa that i can do that with as well as a wheat.
