I found a place that sells green 6.3 oz bottles. I want to get brown pony bottles.
Is it true green is not as good? Does anyone know where to order brown pop top pony bottles?

If you store them in the dark until they're ready to drink there's no problem. The main fault with green bottles is that store owners like to display their product in the bright fluorescent lights, or better yet the sunny front window. You'll be just fine. :) How much per bottle? I've always liked that size...

what fret said, but adding that the UV light reacts with hop resins to create the exact same chemical that a skunk produces. That's why the 'greenies' always taste skunky.

Great info. We figure it is a good size for a Tripel at 10%. We are going to buy about 4 cases. We will get the price if you want. Its at a homebrew store in CT.
Have you seen the brown bottles?

Do they have a web site?

We don't think so. We think they are small wine bottles that fit beer caps.

Here's another site that does them - look for F-16 on the left side. http://www.homebrewery.com/wine/wine-bottles.shtml
Unfortunately, no brown ones. But if I don't miss my guess these are of a darker green and should be okay. Lakefront's Beerline Barleywine uses these exact bottles.
