The beer from this pub always makes me feel a bit gassy. ;)

The fire exit is hilarious!

At least you won't hurt yourself falling down drunk. And you can toss obnoxious patrons into the fire, without fear of a lawsuit.
Cheers!

Didn't the allies build these to fool the axis into thinking the D-Day build-up was larger than it actually was? Hey, waitaminnit - isn't Richard always talking about London having the most taverns of any city in the world? NOW we know WHY!! ;)

No dart boards in this pub! Just imagine it making this giant PPPPPFFFFTTTTT sound like when you let go of a balloon....

I've never seen one of these but prefabricated pubs do appear at some country fairs in place of the ubiquitous marquees.
And the pubs in London are, I assure you, permanent structures. Around 5,500 pubs, plus a similar number of bars, I would guess, plus of course, drinking places in hotels and other establishments.
My usual haunt, The Victoria at Streathearn Place, http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/show.shtml/2833/Victoria/Bayswater is one of the newer ones - probably no more than a couple of hundred years old.

I know people that smoke hate it, but here in NY that is one of the best laws past. No smoking in any establishment, you don't come home smelling like it and your not choking on it all night long.

Yes - several cities in Colorado have gone the same route, as have CA and FL. Any idea on what the smoking laws are in NJ (Princeton specifically)? Might be going there for Memorial Day Weekend.

I liked the substantial booths that some brewers set up at GBBF.
I also enjoyed very much, the evening I spent with Richard and the Simpletons in The Victoria he gave the link to. Not only was the Fullers delicious but one of the bar maids was from DC.

Dang Netscape....

I see the problem. The word "is" (the first word of ,my following sentence) has become part of the url. Just leave off the last two letters from the url and you'll be OK. I've corrected my orginal posting so you should now be able to get in by clicking on that.

Pilot error, I'm sure. But it did seem to work when Richard fixed the link. Pretty cool!

I will be there tonight and I'll warn them to be ready for a sudden influx from the USA...
