Is anyone planning on attending this event this year? It is set in Philly for april 13 - 16.

With my brewery project, I figure I should look into attending this. Brewmonkey, Stod? You guys ever go to this thing?

I have been to a couple of them. I think that if you're planning on opening a brewery, its a good idea to go to it. The seminars can be pretty valuable. There are a lot of great speakers there, who know an awful lot about the brewing and restaurant business.

I think, for me anyway, the most valuable part was the trade show. You get to meet, or see again, all of your suppliers, and build a good relationship with them, face to face.

I think it would be worth it for you to go. I'm thinking of going this year, too. But I'm not sure yet.

Well, let me know if you decide to go, I would be interested in splitting lodging and similar expenses. Plus, It would be GREAT to have a veteran to go with.

I will definitely let you know. Gotta talk the wife into letting me spend the money first. I'm gonna have to work the "out of work, this would be a great networking opportunity" angle. :D

Seems like there would be tons of good information. I have considered going before just for fun. I have a buddy who went many years ago and bought a brewery / system.

You can use me as an excuse if you want.

"bruno needs me to go so I can show him around and introduce him to everyone I know."

Hey Stod, any news on whether or not you'll be attending?

Hey Bruno-

It's not looking promising at this point, unfortunately. But I'm still working on the wife.

Bruno, Are you gonna go?

I'm very seriously considering it. My finances are strong enough, it all depends on whether or not I can get the time off work. I don't think it will be a problem.

I think you will learn a lot and also possibly make some good contacts. I had a friend who went to one once and ended up buying a brewery.

I have been to several of them and they are a good deal, especially if you are looking to open up a place. I will not be going to this years however.

If you do make it I highly suggest hitting the ATF's booth and grabbing all the paperwork they have on opening a place. It is much easier there then if you have to track it down on your own.

Make sure you hit the functions after hours as well. They are a great place to do some networking and to pick someones brains over a few pints.

Anyone that is interested, I have a hotel room booked (two doubbles) and I'm wanting to split the cost. 13th-16th. I'm not sure if my partner is coming or not so I can't promise the room at this time but I should know by tomorrow. Anyone know if AHA members are given the discount that BA members are?

Slainte,
Jeff

Last time I was at the CBC the only discount was for IBS members. Go to www.beertown.org and see what they have to say about it.

What, no takers? Come on! 1/2 the room, half the cost. If you are going to the CBC this is a good thing.

Jeff

I think I'm out. I've got too many pots in the fire. Now that I know about this, and can plan on attending, I will DEFINITELY go next year.
