Meteor
Meteor will have one person at each location on its featured night and
will be able to call or personally provide safe transportation home to
those in need. The cost is only slightly more then a cab while providing
the customer an extra half hour of sleep the following day, since your car
is already in their driveway.
This is the tentative schedule for the first Portland Oregon Barley Wine
Long Haul Tour.
This is an event that we plan to build into a major player in the beer
festival circuit. Our plan with this is that a participant can go to two
bars a night, over the period of four nights and truly taste 24 barley wines
without too much serious damage. Ticket blocks will allow people to go in,
get their three tasters and decided which barley wine they like best and get
a 6 oz glass. It is our thought that the palette can't appreciate more than
six barley wines in an evening. We are working on the idea of providing bus
transportation between the featured bars which will be complimentary for
ticket block holders.
Being an Oregon event, we are dedicated to presenting at least one Oregon
product at each participating venue. This will not be to the exclusion of
out of state products. We have a strong desire to present new products to
the market and showcase products of exceptional quality.
Each location has chosen a sponsored charity. We will offer glasses,
shirts, and signed posters, where available, with the profits going to the
charity of purchasers' choice. Shirts will include on the back: bars,
barley wines (with the brewers' name if the brewer/brewery desires),
charities, and sponsors.
Each location will have a table set up to sell promotional/charity items.
Tables will be in locations on their featured night. This will be a place
where customers can go and get information about the beers and charities,
and purchase promotional paraphernalia. This will give a place for the
brewers to hang out to meet and greet the masses. These tables will be
manned by Bridge City Promotions, Meteor and, as available, charities.
Meteor is a relatively new company which comes to a customer's location,
via fold up scooter, and drives the person home in their own vehicle.
All things said and done, we are trying to create an event that will be fun
for everybody, a giant, four night long, city wide block party. With the
support of brewers, bar/restaurant owners and the public this will become an
event like no other.
