I just came across a couple of unopened bottles of Henry Weinhard's Private Reserve, with the neck ring having a Bottling 42 printed on it. I know these are old, and I'd like to find out when they were bottled. Is there some site that tells you when the bottlings were done? I want to put them up on eBay, unless somebody here wants them.
I just joined this forum and I don't know if it's ok to make an offer to sell stuff, but if so, make me an offer. If not, tell me it's not ok.

These were most probably bottled in the late 70s or early 1980s. Probably not drinkable. Is the number on the Neck label?

Thanks for the note. I had two Henrys, with the neck label Number 42. When I heard nothing for a while, I put them on eBay, and they sold, complete with non-drinkable product. Right now, I'm "divesting" my breweriana collection on eBay, a little at a time. I have one Brazilian can, one Brazilian bottle and one Fijiian bottle up for bid right now. More to come. I've traveled to 41 countries and sampled probably 2000 or more non-US brews. I saved labels at first, then bottles and cans. My kids had over 200 Australian cans alone, but they're gone now. All I do now is consume. :D

I'm gonna be selling off my 30 year collection myself. Little by little. Also lots of other antiques. I've traveled to 18 countries and 45 states drinking beer. I'm around 6000 beers. Of course that is over 30 years. I sold my foreign beer can collection back in 1980. Along with my US. I sold a total of about 4,000 cans back then. Here is a an old pre pro piece I have on Ebay right now:

Where in Alexandria are you? I grew up in the Ft. Hunt / Mt. Vernon area. Also are you a member of the Capital City Chapter of BCCA?
