I'd been brewing for the better part of 7 or 8 years now and finally made the jump into kegging. I purchased a 3 gallon cornie system from Northern Brewer, and already had the CO2 tank sitting around for my kegerator. All I can say is WOW! This is by far the best thing that I could have done with my hobby. Anyone who is even considering this step - just do it, and you won't have any regrets. I force carbonated @ 30psi for 48 hours and am now enjoying my double dry hopped IPA on draft.

I'm on my way to kegging. I got a chest freezer for Christmas:D
One bottle is better than fifty. I'll be kegging my Scott today and building a collar for a 4 tap kegerator this weekend. This just keeps getting better.

I agree that kegs vs. bottles is the has the highest OMGICBITMSLO ratio.

hmm... guessing I am one of the few here.... I jumped into this headfirst and threw a bunch of money in it. (maybe I knew I'd be doing it for life) and went all the way with a kegerator tap kit ($150) 2 cornys ($60) a 10lb CO2 tank ($70) and various hoses, disconnects, etc... 2 glass carboys and the original plastic Brewer's Best brew kit. I'm at least in for $500 by now and it seems I buy more everytime I hit the LHBS. I just can't help it....
but anyway.. I started keggin on my second homebrew and have only bottled 2 full batches (out of maybe 10-11)?? in my first year. My first batch, and a barleywine that I intend to have for YEARS.

Ya, I think I went with kegs after my third batch. I think I bottled one more batch for a friend then said "Fergit this!" (Note to Fret: misspelling intentional)

I was all set to get kegging stuff, then I realized that I'd only need $8 worth of bottles to take care of the next batch. Washing / sanitizing the bottles only took about an hour and a half, and I seem to be able to fill and cap two cases (~48 bottles) in a rather short amount of time. Maybe... Half an hour, plus another 15 minutes to wash/dry the outside of each filled bottle. (I want them looking sparkly and shiny for drinking-time.)
Also, part of me really wanted to bottle condition some of this latest brew in this bottle (http://www.nuxx.net/gallery/californiastylepalekit/DSCN0227).
So, my being cheap, not wanting to sacrifice some fridge space, and a bit of inertia led to my second batch being bottled. We'll see about the third... I've got enough spare bottles that there will be no out of pocket cost.
Now, if I could only decide *what* to brew...
