everybody collects something...I collect six pack holders from micro breweries. I would like to get a westvleteren six pack holder and would gladly pay for postage or trade something for your efforts...can you help me?

The way I've heard it, I don't think they even exist. As far as I can tell (never having been to the brewery), the beer comes in unlabelled bottles in wooden crates. There are some American importers who make labels for the bottles, so maybe the same importers make six packs.

Sorry not to be of any help.

Sorry man, there is no such thing.
Westvleteren is only sold (legally) at the monstary itself either by the case (which come in wooden crates) or by the glass at the cafe across the street. I have seen labels and six packs (http://www.whitebeertravels.co.uk/sixtus.html), but I don't think these are official. I've been there myself to buy beer. They also sold glasses, cheese, religous books and such things, but I didn't see any six packs.

So then may I ask, what is the green holder the beer is sitting in?

I have one or two... I'm on business travel at the moment and can't get to them.

Where are you?

No this stuff on the six packs is untrue. They are official. As has already been stated, in the drive-in part of the monastery itself, one can only buy beer by the crate, but in the café opposite the monastery, In de Vrede, which is owned by the monastery, one can, of course, buy the three beers by the glass, but there is also a shop selling a wide selection of goods, including six packs, with a special carrier, Trappist cheese, Trappist soap (from monasterires other than St Sixtus), etc, etc.

The six pack shown on my Web page covering St Sixtus, http://www.whitebeertravels.com/sixtus , was purchased by myself in this shop owned by the monastery, so, of course, it is official, official. I give prices for beer by the crate (in the monastery), by the glass in the café and in the café shop, to take out, on this page.

Regards and Cheers!

I should have a couple packed away from my last two trips there. I will dig around and see if I can find one for you.

I have a couple of the Westvleteren six packs (empty) should anyone want them. I normally buy the beer by the crate from the monastery, as there is a significant price diffference, but on Fridays it is not open for sales, and on some days there is no beer available, or rather the one that I habitually purchase: the Westvleteren 12 (Abt).

Regards and Cheers!

Send me your mailing address by e-mail and I will mail you one. The six pack holder will be free; you will just need to pay for the postage, which can be done with PayPal. My e-mail contact address is:
