I have heard of this beer called Terrapin Rye pale ale, I believe. It's from Georgia, has anyone tried it?

Yes. It's "from" Athens GA. Terrapin Rye Pale Ale. It's quite good. Very bold and hoppy. I say "From" because I believe it's contract brewed elsewhere. Nevertheless, I'd highly recommend it. By the way, just noticed your user name, if you were curious, there is a Terrapin on the label. Similar to the one on the Deads "Terrapin Station".

I would love a six or twelve pack but by no means will I get greedy, one or two just to try would be great. Just pm me and I'll send payment or a trade whatever you're interested in.
Thanks :D

I did end up getting some from Payson and I loved it. I had never had a rye pale before and is now one of my favorites. I shared it with a couple of friends of mine, one of them being a local brewer here on Long Island so maybe it will spark some interest.

Welcome D3po! Interesting name, and the brew sounds pretty interesting, too.

Terrapin Station is a fine album. And I also enjoy that famous band from Athens. Now I guess I'll just have to try the beer sometime.
Welcome Dismembered3po.

Yeah, Terrapin Station is the album I pop in for people that aren't familiar w/ The Dead at all. They're generally amazed at it's depth. I'm an REM fan as well. The older the better.

Wow, we have some dead fans here? I love them. the lyrics are unlike anything I have have ever heard, I miss Jerry. Use to tour around alittle in the late 80's early 90's.

We are having a small Dead discussion over on this thread too:

Funny how far threads can go off topic. .

Not Dead-like, but the late Elliot Smith is a favorite of late. If you're not familiar, do yourself a favor and check him out.

He was a great talent. It's a shame that he's gone.

Tragic!! Self inflicted or foul play??

Based on half of his lyrical content, I'd say self-inflicted.
The posthumous release "From a basement..." reads
like a suicide note in places.

That it does. "From a Basement...." is the album that introduced me to him. Beautiful! "Fond Farewell" is amazing!

Have not heard any of his stuff. I'll look for it. Who would you compare him to?

Beck's "Sea Change" comes to mind. He's very "raw" lyrically.

I like the Beck comparison. Maybe Bright Eyes, too.
