Breweries and Railroads

Howdy all,

Not sure if this is correct forum, but Great website nonetheless. I have enjoyed reading some of the conversations....

I am doing research for an article on St Louis' breweries and how beer was shipped by railroads from the AB brewery to locations all over the country. I am looking for any additional information on "beer railroads", beer cars, or the like. Let me know and thanks!

I don't know if any railroads were built just to service a brewery/breweries. i saw a beer program on TV that stated that until good refrigeration cars existed, rail shipping was not able to do the job.

There is a model railroad site that might have more people with knowledge on this subject, though there is a rail engineer on this site. It is www.the-gauge.com
