has anyone tasted Three Floyds Pride & Joy Mild? I just became aware of this beer from my favorite brewery in the States. It is available at my local paint store so I'll have to swing by and get some.
Anyone tasted it yet? Impressions?

I had a couple years back, when FFF beers were still distributed to MN. I remember loving it and thinking, "if this is what Milds are supposed to be like, why aren't there more beers of this style available?!?" But it's been a few years since I've had that beer...

That thread was posted 4 days before I joined this board. I can't wait to try it now after reading it and Daves comment.

Now I'll have Stevie Ray Vaughn's song "Pride and Joy" in my head all day....not that that's a bad thing! I just need a FFF Pride and Joy in my hand to go with it! :D

LOL! That's pretty funny.
Since I discovered it then Chaz, my local good-beer-bar has had it on cask very often - you just need to get to the joint before it's all gone! Quite good.

It is only newly available here. I had not been aware of it before but since I really like their other beers I'll betr this one is a winner too. Wonder if it is hopped with Amarillo like the Gumballhead. We get FFF beers in batches it seems. usually Alfa King and one other rotating type. I got an email about the Pride and Joy being in at my local paint store. I'm gonna get some for sure. I can only imagine it on cask. The descriptions make it sound like it is right up my alley.

..that's actually a very good thing! His live acoustic version is pretty cool, too...SRV certainly didn't need to be plugged in to be effective...
I don't have any FFF P&J handy, either, so a Gumball Head will have to do!

Wow, I'll have to look out for this one next time I'm down at Chevy Chase Liquors. (I just spent $70 there when I'd intended to only get a few things, so I have to be careful around that part of town -- it's like crack.) They seem to carry Three Floyds in bursts... I was about 10 minutes too late to get Gumballhead there a few weeks ago and haven't seen it since.

That is the same with Vienna Whole foods. FFF comes in bursts.
And yes chevy chase always is like that for me too. It has been years since I got out of there under $100.00. Candy Store that is.

I drank two bottles last night. I'll try more and give my impressions soon. All I can say was this was very hoppy. Very citrus. I'd be curious to know if they used Amarillo. Tastes like it. Suffice it to say this bottle conditioned beer is better when it reaches room temperature. It is very hoppy.

I felt pretty good when I managed to avoid travelling to Indy this week, now that I see this post I am regretting it. I've never seen the P&J and sounds like I need to try it.
On the bright side, some money and a list given to my boss should do the trick.
Hopefully I'll have some by Friday!

There may be some amarillo in there, but not much. I'd put money on there being Columbus in there, and maybe some simcoe.
