Denmark Brewing LLC, Denmark, Wisconsin (LLC? - anyone? Buehler?). 22 oz bomber.
Deep gold color with a thin, bubbly, white head (sediment in last 1/8 of bottle makes for a hazy gold color).
Citrus nose with grainy malt and slight DMS back.
Initial citrus flavor with mellow caramel malts back. Some minor sulfury flavors from DMS. Crisp, tart hops in aftertaste.
Thin body with a slick mouth-feel.
An interesting rendition of the style; crisp and refreshing, though maybe a little light on the hops. The head disappoints with a quick disappearance.
As this brewery (or at least its owners) is somewhat new*, I guess I can balance an opinion in having had much worse beers from new brewers.
*As said, I wrote this back in July or August, since then I've found a little more info on Denmark Brewing - from Beer Me.com - that says they opened in 1999, the same year Hinterland Brewing - once located in Denmark - opened their brew-pub in Green Bay. Not sure if there's any personnel connection there, but I'd guess (especially from the small size of Denmark) there has to be some sort of link.
From what I recall, the brewing system at Hinterland was only a little smaller than the Buzz Brewery in Drew Carey's garage. I doubt that they hauled the little thing into a new facility in downtown Green Bay - still in service in quaint Denmark? I sure wish the DB web site was working.
