I am currently brewing my 1st. attempt at a clone/tribute version of Adnams Broadside. I created the recipe from clues I picked up various places, as I could not find a recipe anywhere I looked. I used 3.3 lb. johnbull light syrup,3 lb. muntons light dry extract, 1lb. 60L crystal and Wyeast 1968 London ESB yeast. Any comments, advice or experience welcome. CHEERS !

Yes I did use hops !, but neglected to state in my post. I used 7AAU of Challanger in the boil(60 min.), 4AAU Fuggle for flavor after 45min. and 4AAU Kent Goldings for aroma at end of boil.
I found in my research that these are the varieties used by Adnams. This should get me close to the reported 33IBU of Broadside.I will be bottling today and have on hand a bottle of Broadside to compare with my "Salvo" when tasting time arrives.
Anticipation!!! Cheers!

don't know if it will taste like Adnams, but it will certainly taste good.
that basic recipe:
6-8 pounds of extract
1 pound of speciality grain(s)*
3 ounces of hops
quality yeast
will always produce a very good beer. :)
*excluding black and chocolate malts....I would never use more than 1/2 pound of these, and usually 1/4 pound is sufficient
