I had to take a trip to Traverse City so I decided to see if I could find the Traverse City Brewing Company. Its not exactly in TC it has a Williamsburg address. It is not that close to Williamsburg either. From TC you take U.S 31 North/ M72 East around the Grand Traverse Bay you will come to Acme at the 31/72 junction. Continue north on U.S. 31 for another 7.5 miles look for it on the left. When you see a sign that says Yuba you are about half way there, but don't blink because you may miss Yuba. Actually I had my eyes wide open and did not see any town. If you find yourself in Elk Rapids you gone past the brewery and need to turn around.

I only stopped in briefly to buy a six pack. The building is made of log. I'm not sure if it was full log or a half log siding. It looked like a fairly new building. My first impression of the place was the small size. It had a small bar with maybe 8 stools and 4-5 table scattered about.

I bought 2 Old Mission Light House Ale, 2 Manitou Amber Ale, 1 Sleeping Bear Brown Ale, 1 Traverse City Stout.

This will be my first taste of a brown ale. I've only had a stout once and looking forward to giving that style another try.
