wine of the month club?

i know, i know.. this is a beer site. but, i'm sure there are those among us who enjoy other libations!

SWMBO and I are thinking of getting a wine club membership for her sister for christmas. I'm just a little leery of all these "wineclub.com" web sites, not to mention I get spam offers from time to time. So, has anyone ever ordered from one? Any recomendations? Places to avoid?

I live in NJ, and my parents used to get "beer of the month" shipments, so I'm pretty sure we're legal to take shipments here.

Never been a Wine Club member but I have ordered from wine.com. Decent prices but pretty crappy order tracking - last minute shipment (Dec 23) arrived via private courier (slovenly guy in a Honda Civic).

after some research, i went with wine.com. as always, this site was the best resource! a search of the realbeer home page revealed this (http://www.realbeer.com/news/articles/news-001370.php). not very recent, i know, but at least it gives me a reference point.

anyway, the shipment arrived as scheduled. delivered via fedex, and their online tracking was certainly accurate enough for me. hopefully, the next 5months of the 6 month membership arrive as smoothly!!
