View Full Version : American Wheat infected?
Drink to much

I made an American wheat all grain and when I racked it to the carboy I forget to fill my air bubbler. It was in the carboy for about 10 days before I noticed it. Do you think that it will be spoiled? Is there a way to tell beside tasting? In the primary it blew the lid off everytime I walked by and scared the crap out of me so it had good yeast activity. It has possitive pressure on the bubbler so I hope it is not ruined.

you're most likely fine. if this was a secondary fermentation, you're even more likely fine. once fermented, beer is a pretty inhospitable place for microbes. between the alcohol, low pH, and the hops, it's tough for an infection to take hold...

That makes me fill better, I thought it would be OK but thought I would check. Thanks.
I forgot to fill the airlock on the secondary for nearly three weeks of the last Nut Brown Ale I made and I had nothing but positive reviews.

That's my reasoning for drinking beer when I'm sick; also my reasoning for drinking beer when I'm well, so I won't GET sick. ;)

Good news.. It turned out great so no worries there. It has 1 problem that I noticed though when I drink a lot of it it makes my words sound funny. Come to think of it that happen to all my beers.
