Ok, so I've got a tremendous amount of beer and cider preparing to be bottled and kegged. One issue I have is marking all the individual EZ-cap bottles somehow to indicate its contents.

I had been putting a small mark on the caps w/ a Sharpie, but that's not a good long-term solution.

I don't like the idea of using paper labels, because they'll eventually degrade in the wash, and become a mess unto themselves.

I considered printing my own plastic static-cling labels (like the oil-change place puts on your windshield), but the price seemed intimidating (especially for one-time seasonals, etc).

Perhaps a small dongle/tag attached to the wire for the cap?

Any ideas?

Whenever I brew, I always fill a couple of 1 liter bottles each for my dad & my uncle. I just use 2" wide masking tape, stick a piece on the side of the bottle & write with a Sharpie what the brew & abv is.:)

I just use a sharpie and write the batch number on the cap. I would think you could find some small round Avery stickers that you could run through a desktop printer if that method seems easier.

Yeah, I hate paper labels. They look great until there's any sort of moisture, then they suck. I like the idea of tags. I use tags for my kegs, why not tags for bottles? Or, a friend has a little portable labeller thingie that prints on plastic tape. It only does text, but I was thinking that those might be ok.

I got an idea at the supermarket tonight -

Little rectangular plastic clips...the kind used to keep plastic bags of produce closed...or bags of bread. These could be clipped to the wire of the bottle...different colors for different batches - or maybe labeled.
