OK, this place is a little out of the way. When looking for it, we were in the middle of an industrial park and my passenger said "Dude, no way we are even in the right area", but sure enough, there it was.

First off, this seems to be a regulars place, there are a lot of ceramic steins with names on them. Second, they server no food. Since there was no menu, we just had a beer and shot some pool, then went somewhere else for dinner. BTW, pool is free.

Really nice atmosphere, almost like a comfortable lounge. I really like it when a brewpub only serves its own beers, and this one did that. Seems that most beers are German-style.

I had the Marzen, which was a bit darker than amber (almost brownish in color) with a nice head that reduced to a kind of lace. The definite aroma from moravian malts was present. This was a malty beer with only a hint of hops (which I assumed to be tetnang, but since it was subtle, I could be mistaken). Decent alcohol bite and malt finish to this beer. I really enjoyed this one.

The person I was travelling with had the Hefeweizen. As I don't like wheat beers, I cannot comment on it other than appearance: nice blonde color, cloudiness of the unfiltered wheat, decent head.

I shot my usual crap game of pool.

All-in-all, a positive experience. It is way out of the way, but a nice diamond in the rough.

I

I think brewpubs should ONLY serve their own beers except for the occasional guest beer maybe.

Wonder if the Hefe had that banana clove bubblegum smell? or was it the Northern Style?
