wow... LOTS of great selections this year.
My standout brew of the day was Mendocino's Winter Ale weighing in at 10.2%. smooth, dark and just superb. The Mendocino Talon Barleywine was superstrong as well @ 10.5% and complex as any BW should be.
Unibroue had many selections and their 10 and 11 (anniversary brews) were quite good.
He'Brew Jewbelation was one that was quite strange. brewed with 8 types of grain and 8 hops, this (also 8%) brew is a winter warmer that was very complex. strange and odd in everyway. a buddy had his before I had mine and mentioned celery flavor in the aftertaste. I glanced at him with doubt and then WHAM!!.... celery.... weird!!
Goose Island Demolition, a strong golden ale brewed each year in honor of their first brew location which was demolished was memorable as well.
I picked up 4 very nice new beer glasses for a whopping $5 and nabbed a few posters and key ring bottle openers as well. A good time was had by the 11 of us that went together.

I have a review on the Demolition I've been holding on to...
S.
BTW - Celery in a beer's aftertaste is usually a sign of oxidation/staleness.
