Strong Ale Fest

Just wondering if any of y'all are going to go to Pizza Port's Strong Ale fest ( Carlsbad). I am almost 100% sure I will be going. Just trying to see how many people I will have to compete with. :D

It was on my "to do" list until I remembered that wife's birthday is on the 4th. I did however hear that O'Briens is having a fresh hop beer fest in November, perhaps I'll attend that instead.

The actual name of the event is the "San Diego Wet Hop Beer Festival." There will be "more than a dozen" wet hop beers on draft and cask, from the like of Russian River, Rogue, Sierra Nevada, Drakes, Pizza Port, etc. Russian River's Vinnie Cilurzo will give a presentation on this style from 11am - noon, then the fest begins, and runs to 10pm. All I know is that I've got a weak spot for this style, Sierra Nevada's Harvest Ale in particular, and that's enough to get me to drive in from Las Vegas. Cheers.

Figures. I have a very important event to attend on the 19th which I KNOW will prevent me from being able to wake up on Sat. and drive down to O'Brians. Vinnie is a cool guy and he definitely brews some great stuff. Maybe I'll be able to cajole a certain pub owner to ask Vinnie to bring an extra keg?It's a thought.
