ok, i voted for october, but i must preface that vote a bit...as long as either a) we meet at gabf or b) the meet up does not conflict with gabf, then i'm a potentially serious participant depending on location, amount of current vacation, amount of current cash on hand, phase of the moon, and as long as i don't have to gallop with some idiot clapping coconut shells behind me ;)

I would favor mid August because:

football season hasn't started yet

cold weather should not be an issue if event is in Midwest (hint, hint ;) )

from late August to mid October it seems there are fests of some type nearly every weekend - beer, music, family events...

That's me, of course...but I think that might be true for many others as well

My second choice - mid to late October; near the end of peak fest season; many areas of the country exhibiting beautiful autumn colors...makes for nice traveling.

I think it would be great to have it in conjunction with a beer fest that was already set up. (I voted for Oct. but August has the GBBF.)

If its held the last weekend of September/first weekend of October in Denver for the GABF, I'll already be there. It would be kinda cool to plan it around the GABF so we could all try some of the beers that everyone talks about.

Personally, I would prefer that it not be held in conjuction with one of the large fests...I think the logistics of getting everyone together and being able to actually talk and get to know one another at a large event such as the GABF might be difficult...what would the price of tickets and cost and availability of hotel rooms be like for that fest?

Is there a smaller, more intimate fest that work as a meeting place?

Yes there are. Many of the smaller festivals have several sessions. so what would be fun would be to have a place to meet up and them maybe all attend a session but also have our group separate from the rest of the festival for part of the time.

I've had such good luck meeting everyone from the board so far, that you can count me in for any sort of convention. Honestly one month is not really better than other. I just need plenty of notice (for work and finances). :)
