View Full Version : mini-rant
i really will never understand this: why do people join a bulletin board and then never post? i mean really...if you're going to lurk, why join? having to wade through all the been a member since methusala was an itch in his daddy's pants, zero posts to find an id of a user whose name i was not sure of the speeling for (just seeing if you're paying 4773|\|710|\| fret) is just a PITA (and i don't mean a piece of greek bread!).
ok, i think i'm done ranting now...unless someone wants to hear my mcdonald's rant?
oooo, I do , I do!!!
And also....isn't there a way to delete the members whose ID's are stagnant? I mean...they haven't logged on in like, a year? I noticed that the other day...

I don't post much myself because I am still new with respect to the amount of batches I have brewed. Thus I generally don't have much constructive advice to give. I mainly have questions which are often answered by searching the forums. I have registered because I want the option of posting when I need to.
I'll try to bring up my "quota" of posts though ;)

I know it probably doesn´t help but 'tis the plague of every message board. When searching for a particular nick it helps a LOT to sort the member list by total topics. It reduces the amount of pages you have to file through enormously. :-)

I hang out at 4-5 beer boards. There is no way I can contribute equally to all of them, so a couple of them probably see little activity from me (or long hiatuses? in between). And there are probably a few people here that signed on but just don't enjoy Realbeer.com  Of course, they need to seek professional help!
Cheers!

The forum over at Oxford Bottled Beer Database was a good one but they started having problems with the system and it has been down for months. I sort of doubt that it will ever again be working. I liked it because it was similiar to this one but was based in England and had a majority posters from there.

ok, enough with the circles...i just proposed on a science forum that π be rounded off to 3.0, which probably really messes up the universe, but most definitely messes up the circles!
lets stick to geometric constructs that don't involve infinite sequences...like rhiemann-theta functions...ok, bad example...perphaps cubes or tetrahedrons?
i'm a member of the inner tetrahedron...get back to the third tetrahedron where you belong!
now there's some power ;)

I suppose in the interest of full disclosure here, I have to 'fess up and mention that my lovely wife is more than a decade my JUNIOR... doesn't mean that I don't find older women attractive; just didn't work out that way for me. My advice: When you find your true soul mate, don't let anyone tell you that your age differences are going to be an issue. If you're honest with yourself, and he's/she's the ONE, then that's all you need to know. :D
I tell people that I act 6-7 years younger than I am, and Mrs. Fret acts 6-7 years OLDER than she is, so we sort of meet (and cross!) in the middle!
