Howdy folks,

Since I started home brewing, I learned the hard way the perrils of using dish soap on anything- your beer loses it's head.

I've been told also not to use dish soap on glasses, and also not to wash them in the dish washer for the same problem. Thing is- even though I ve heard lots of "don'ts," I've never heard what I SHOULD do. (Well, actually someone told me to one-step 'em, but that seems laborous.)

So here's the simple question- What's the best way to wash a beer glass?

Cheers,
Scotto

I use a solution of baking soda and water. It works great, and it's cheap.

immediately rinse, then just dunk them in your tank of starsan and let dry...not that i do this, no room, but when i become an owner of a house-like object, i will construct a wet bar with taps...and that's how i'll clean mine...might even get one of those really nifty bar glass brush cleaner thingies!

oh, yeah, that's after i win the lottery...the house will be made with gold bricks, too

Dish soap is fine. Just use a few drops and follow with a good hot rinse for each glass and dry upside down in a rack. I tried the baking soda solution and found it no better than a good hot rinse. Plenty of head and thick lace on my beer glasses.

Cheers!
