Looking for midwest / east coast big beers

I'm looking to trade for some midwest and east coast big beers! Barleywines, specialty beers, etc.

Here's a partial list of beers that I have available for trade. I'll try to get a complete inventory together soon.

I would be most interested in your Alaskan Porter (could you get your hands on thier Christmas beer for me? I've never had it.) And any of the Hair of the Dog beers. Here are some beers I can put up for barter (not all are Midwest or East Coast, but maybe you will find interesting):

Orkney Dark Island 2001 (from Scotland-awesome)
Orkney Skull Splitter 2001 (also from Scotland, also awesome!)

Anything in particular you are looking for? I've been trying to get my hands on some alaskan Smoked porter for over a year now.

Bell's has a great cherry stout and their expedition stout is also good (russian imperial). Bell's also has some holiday special stouts this year. New Glarus has some good stuff too (belgian) 3 floyds has a killer american IPA called Alpha King. It is maybe a 1.070 beer.

I'd be interested in stuff that I can't get over here on the We(s)t Coast. New Glarus, Alpha King, stuff outta the '02 Battle of the Beers. There's also one I've been really trying to get. The Michigan Mountain Bikers Association had a brew made up for them. I'll have to do some digging to find the brewer they used. The Grand Cru sounds interesting too.

I like Porters, Stouts, IPA, Barleywine ...

Big bold "strong" tasty brews.

I saw the Alaskan Winter Brew in the store today and I can get my hands on Hair of the Dog stuff.

I can get my hands on any of Bell's beers (their Expedition Stout is incredible), 3 Floyds (Alpha King is awesome, plus they make a stellar Scotch Ale), Victory out of PA is also very good. They have an IPA that is killer, on par with the 3 Floyds. While sadly, New Glarus is not available where I live, I do happen to have a couple bottles of their Belgian Red Cherry beer on hand that I can barter with. I would be willing to send you six packs of any of those in return for six packs of the Alaskan Winter and Amber ales. The New Glarus cherry beer comes in 750 ml bottles, so maybe that can go for a bottle or two of the smoked porter (that comes in 22 oz. bottles, correct?) Let me know if this sounds agreeable to you and if you have any preferences on which beers you'd like to receive!

Hey, Kiltlifter--you da man!!
I had the Alaskan Amber and Winter beers yesterday. All I can say is WOW!! Fantastic beers, both of them. The amber is fantastically malty and very tasty, a great example of an alt beer! The winter did not have as much spruce taste as I expected, which was great! Too many winter beers are over-spiced, in my humble opinion and this was just the right amount. I had these yesterday as I was homebrewing a, what else, smoked porter! In a few weeks when that is ready, I will taste along side with the Alaskan Smoked Porter. I know mine will be nowhere close to the Alaskan, but I hope mine is at least decent.

I love doing these beer trades!

How you do it is beyond me. I don't have much, but here goes:

Hair of the Dog - Adam 2001 batch 52 one 12 oz bottle left
Old Nick's Barlywine - England 95' one 12 oz left
Allagash Grand Cru 2002 batch 17 - one 750 bottle left
Allagash Grand Cru 2003 batch 5 - four 750 bottles and growing

I would love to get my hands on some Alaskan Smoked Porter,
Sierra Nevada 'Bigfoot' 2002 or older, Bell's Third Coast Old Ale 2002 or older.

Hey there, I noticed that you would be wanting to trade possibly for some New Glaurus, well, I could get you that pretty easily. Would you be interested in trading for some Seirra Nevada Celebration or Hair of the Dog. Those are the two I'm most interested in, however any of the ones you have posted would be fine with me. Just let me know if you would be interested in trading. I also could get you some of the other beers on this years challenge pretty easy!!!

What would you recommend from New Glaurus?

Sierra Nevada Celebration is still available and Hair of the Dog is no problem. I've also got some homebrew Scotch if that's of any interest.

hey there, sorry it took so long to get back to ya, moving sucks. Anyway, the three beers that I would recommend are Spotted Cow, Native Ale, or Belgian Red(which is brewed with cherries)

Let me know what you want and we can work out a trade then. I can tell you that the Spotted Cow is my personal fave and I haven't gotten to try the Native Ale yet because it is a new beer just to let you know.

Also, anyone else up for trading, I'm open for suggestions!!
