Hey guys, haven't been around for a while but I gotta quick question for ya. I want to give my kegerator a good cleaning, the beer line going up through the tower needs to be removed and cleaned, does the top of these towers just pop off? It looks like it should but it won't budge and I don't wanna break anything.
Is there a trick to this?

Mine did. It was just a sheet metal cap that slid on/off. It was snug, though. Use a wooden or plastic block to gently tap it off.

Ok I got it. Guess I was just babying it too much. :)
Thanks for the help!

Johnny, pick up some BLC or PBW (http://www.thegrape.net/browse.cfm/2,1272.html) and you don't have to take apart your tower to clean your line... I've used a drill powered pump (like this (http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=6970&langId=-1&catalogId=4006970&PHOTOS=on&productId=11948&categoryId=0)) to recirculate cleaner through my taps and faucets... (although I find it easier now just to pump cleaner and rinse water with co2...)

I agree with Danno, do yourself a favor and find a way to clean your lines without taking your tower apart. You want to look into a beer line cleaning kit (http://www.kegworks.com/shoppingcart/customer/home.php?cat=395) to take some of the work out of the process.
Spend less time cleaning, more time drinking!
