I got this idea after drinking a 5L mini keg of becks. regardless, these 5L kegs from the liquor store have built in taps, and have the air vent on the top.
Anyway, im just curious if anyone kegs in these, using priming sugar, not using CO2.
I bulk prime traditionally when i bottle, so i just added my regular 200g of priming sugar to the 5L keg
should it take longer to carbonate these kegs, or any tips or hints on these things?
They are hard to sterilze too, especially since they are reused cans.

They sell these at brew shops. I have used one that has a CO2 dispenser in the top. It runs ~$75. I never used the ones with the spout at the bottom. I think you can prime them, I fill them from a primed keg. I wonder about overpressurization.
I am not very good at math right now (homebrew induced), is 200g what you calculate for 5L. I don't think so. I just converted your 200g to a 3.3 atmoshpere on a 5 gallon batch (i used Promash to do this). I brought the batch size down to 5L and would recommend 48g of priming sugar. I am now very concerned about overpressurization. Is there a blowoff of any type in your Becks Mini?

I guess I wasn't overly clear. I bulk prime. I used 200g of priming sugar for my entire ~20L batch. so ~50g / 5L so your calculation was perfect.
Perhaps you could show me how that calculation of dissolved oxygen works? that could be very useful!
Thanks. appreciate the help.
I am just curious how long this keg will take to carbonate, using priming sugar, as well. (longer than a regular bottle of beer?)

Don't know what you mean by dissolved oxygen calculation. I have a program called pro-mash. It has all sorts of calculators in it. The one I used presented the amount of sugar to use based on the volume and temperature of the beer.
The carbonation should take the same amount of time assuming you mixed everything thoroughly.
