Fort Collins Brewery is run by the same brewmaster that was working at HC Berger. After sending them an email praising their Oktoberfest (Hey steveh - I'm getting used to American Oktos, but they'll never replace the German malt variety!), I received this reply:

"Thank you for your e-mail and the Oktoberfest comment. There has been an
ownership transition here at the brewery but the same brewmaster, Sandy
Jones, and the same head brewer, Mark Young, are still here. Only the
owners have changed.

For some advance news, Fort Collins Brewery will be brewing the original
recipe CHOCOLATE STOUT next week. Many stores have pre-ordered so as not
to run out of stock. This beer will be on tap at the brewery about 22
October.

Also in the news is the new Wilburfest beer available in the tasting room
here and also ONLY at Wilbur's Total Beverage new location next to Whole
Foods. This is a specialty Oktoberfest type beer, brewed to the
specifications of Wilburs. Sandy Jones says, "This is quite possibly the
best beer I've brewed" Come in and try it mid week, next week.

Tom Peters"

I'll give you three guesses where I'm going to be hanging out on the 22nd... and the first two don't count! :D

Cool! I had heard about that. I'll have to look for the Wilburfest as well.

Any idea if the WilburFest is different than the Okto they currently have on tap? 'Cause it's pretty dang good.... :)

I think they are the same, not positive though.

The chocolate stout kept me off the slopes at Winterpark one year. We were going to hit the slopes when I found a little pub at the base of the hill. Naturally I decided to check it out and four hours later there was no way I could hit the slopes. I ended up closing down the bar.

I have not heard of this brewery or their beers. If this chocolate stout is so good, I have to find a way to get my hands on some.
