The Rendezvous in St. Augustine is welcome stop for the beer afficinado on the road. Small and hard to find in the downtown area, this little hole in the wall boasts between 180-200 different beers from all over the world.

During the day the place is crowded with tourists because they have the cheapest lunch prices on St. George St. (the main tourist drag). But, at night, you may have the place virtually to yourself.Nighttime hours are erratic off-season, so get there early and savour their selection (the bartender will be glad to call you a cab to your hotel).

They've got a brand new website, updated weekly- www.rendezvousfl.com
where you can see their beer list, menu, location, news etc.

Check'em out, if you like fine beers, you'll be glad you did!

I found this old thread so thought it a good spot for new thoughts on this wonderful little beer bar.

I found this palce a couple of visits ago to Fl. It is tucked away in the back corner of a mini mall, what they are called, on St. George St. The pricing may be a little high but considering how hard it is to find good beers in Fl coupled with the fact you are in a tourist section, I find it worth while. Besides a freindly and knowlegable staff, they serve the beer in the correct glassware for style.

I hqad met Dave, a bartender, when I took Taco there last Aug. for a beer or two. He knows his beer and loves talking about our favorite subject. He had worked at another bar and made more money, tips, but loves the Rendezvous for the beer company he gets.

I took him two beers he can't get in Fl on this trip. The Tripel Crown from Middle Ages. A Belgian style tripel with English yeast. Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout was the other. He is going to e mail his thoughts.

I had the Nostradamus from Brasserie Caracole. A very good Belgian style ale. I also tried the Zywiec Porter. It is a Polish beer. It is bigger than most porters and I found it to be very enjoyable. Fret would love it.

If you get to St. Augustine, this a must beer stop.
