POPPET Valves

Some of the poppet valves in my cornies are loose, actually most of them are but they seem to hold pressure just fine when I screw the QD into place. Some of the poppets are held in place by the three prongs on the bottom of the poppet.

Does anyone know if they are supposed to be "locked" into place or free floating?

I think the poppets in my kegs are just kinda free floating. Just stick 'em in the connect and screw it on.

Mine free float after several cleanings so I use a little keg lube to help them stay put until I get things tightened down.
