I thought since this is the season that everyone's thoughts turn to Oktoberfest we could compile local beer events and availibliites for some specialty producst, especially draft brews.
The Reef has just added Hofbrau, Ayinger, and Otter Creek Oktoberfests.
District Chophouse will be taping their Oktoberfest this Thursday.
Gordon Biersch will add theirs in two weeks IIRC.
Blob's Park should be cooking this time of year. I've never actually been but am thinking of going for the first time.
Cafe Berlin usually ads some stuff this time of year, I'll see what they've got going on.
I'd hope we'd hear something from RFD.

Darn, I just deleted Dave Alexanders email. Wait! I had it in my trash here is the doings at RFD and the Bricks:
Hey Howdy from BeerGuyDave
This Wednesday (tomorrow, September 15th) we begin taping the Sports Junkies TV SHOW in RFD's back room! Doors will open at about 5pm, the taping runs from around 6 til 8:30 or so. The Junkies first guest this season will be Redskin wide reciever Rod Gardner.
JUNKS TV ROCKS!
We'll be offering $2 pints of Yuengling Lager and their Black and Tan during the taping of these shows. This series will be taped in our back room for 13 weeks, every Wednesday except October 6th! So c'mon down, hang with the Junkies and the Skins, watch the filming live and drink some great beers cheap all season long! (seating is limited due to the cameras, producers, sound guys and stuff, first come first served! You must be at least 21 years old with valid government issued ID to enter)
Saturday September 18th we host our final DC United Meet the Team party in RFD's front room! They'll all be there hanging out with the likes of youse after the game! (around 9pm or so) This is a great evening, get some autographs enjoy some great beers and meet the team!
RFD is pouring the last of the Clipper City Peg Leg Stout cask now, next will be their great (and powerful) Saison! We're also pouring real Munich Oktoberfest biers all month long, right now Hofbrau Oktoberfest is on, waiting in the wings is a first timer, next, Lowenbrau's Oktoberfest makes it's first appearance in DC (in the 21 years I've been buying beers anyway!) We'll also be pouring Ayinger Oktober Fest Marzen and at both RFD and the Brick we have several other great Oktoberfests like Spaten and a slew of American craft brewers O-fests and autumn seasonals in bottles!
Tastings coming up -
We have a slight chance of a last minute extra special tasing at the end of September but it isn't hooked up yet so sssshhHH!
October 16th will bring our first ever Saturday tasting with Wicked Pete himself taking us all on a Chocolate Advanture! pairing beers with his "CocoaPete" chocolates! It's gonna be SWEET!
November 11th and 12th (our first ever Friday tasting, what's going on here?) will bring the return of Celebrator Beer News owner/publisher Tom Dalldorf and one of the craft brewing scenes finest brewers, Russian Rivers Vinnie Cilerzo with a fantastic selection of wet hopped ales!
Tickets are not on sale for these events yet, stop bugging our hostesses!
Cheerios, Beerios!

Cafe Mozart is tapping the Hofbrau on Weds. (the 16th) with live accordian music from 6 to 9. And unlike some of the other guys around here, they're pouring the beer in liter (and half-liter) mugs.
Edited for careless spelling...

I know, but I cringe when I see typos -- especially when they're my fault.

And FWIW, the "Rocktoberfest" beers are available at both Rock Bottom locations (Ballston and Bethesda). May be worthwhile if you're already in the neighborhood.
