Homade Kegerator ?

I'm trying to make a homemade kegerator and I ran into a problem. I wanted a double pony (1/4) but my refridgerator isn't quite big enough to stack the kegs vertically. My question is... Is it okay for the kegs to lay on their side in the horizontal position? Will the dispensing work okay? Will there be too much foam? Any replies on this would be appreciated. Thanks.

These have the sankey type connector in the middle of the top, right? There is a tube that goes from there down to the bottom of the keg. Laying the keg on it's side would work for about half the keg, then no more beer.

You're going to make it taller? Cool! I sure hope you post pictures when you do! I've seen some pretty amazing transformations... :)
