I know that many of you make your own kegerators, I wanted to ask this anyway. I am going to purchase a kegerator and I don't know which one to buy. My space is limited and I want something that is attractive. I was going to buy the Beverage Air single keg but it will cost a fortune to run it. I contacted the manufacturers of both Beverage Air and True and they both use about 4 x more power then a full size refrigerator.

I down graded to the Summit and Haier. The Haier doesn't use much electricity at all but a user on this forum complained that he couldn't get his beer colder then 39 degree F. I don't know much about the Summit.

Any suggestions on which kegerator I should look at? Any good places to buy them? Keep in mind, I don't want to have to have my own power plant to run the thing.

Thanks for your help,

Brian

It depends on what size kegs you are going to use. If you are a homebrewer, or only buy your beer in corny kegs (the 5 gallon pop containers) you can get away with a smaller refrigerator.

For any of the options you have looked at you will not need a power plant. Although the Bev Air and True use a little more I doubt it would affect your electric bill enough to put you in the poor house. As as matter of fact with the money you will be saving by drinking draft in stead of bottled beer you will probably still come out ahead.

The nice features of the Beverage Air (http://www.kegworks.com/shoppingcart/customer/product.php?productid=16391&cat=420&page=1) and True are the built in drip tray and the air cooled tower.

There is however a considerable cost difference with the Summit (http://www.kegworks.com/shoppingcart/customer/product.php?productid=16594&cat=420&page=1)
and the Haier. There is some pretty good kegerator comparison (http://www.kegworks.com/shoppingcart/customer/pages.php?pageid=15) information here.

I have alway had good luck with www.KegWorks.com (http://www.kegworks.com/shoppingcart/customer/home.php?cat=418)
