I know you don't know me from Adam's housecat, since I'm relatively new around here, but at the risk of sounding too familiar...yer killin' me. I haven't been out that way in 10 years. I love to flyfish, so yer makin' me deeply jealous. Hope you have an awesome time and catch the limit daily (just remember, bull trout are off limits!). Give us details when you get back, huh?

I'm back. I had a lot of fun and found two good Canadian beers in the process. I was pleased to find Nelson Brewing's Paddywhack IPA and AfterDark Mild to be so tasty. The IPA was the best beer I've had from Canada but the town I was in ain't exactly beer central. I've come to the conclusion that Big Rock Brewing makes beers designed to not offend -- boring.
About the fishing - it was very good considering. It had been raining pretty much continuously for the past month in Elkford so the Elk River and the Fording River were very high and very fast making them very difficult to wade and fish. After a day and half we moved to fishing tributaries and found that Michel Creek was a great place with a lot of very good holes. It rained hard several nights which made for very turbid water the next day. The wind was also blowing about 5-10 mph(gusting to around 20) for most of the days. So the conditions for flyfishing were challenging to say the least.
I wound up catching 14 cutthroat and three of them were 16-18 inches long(I measure them against my forearm with my fingers outstretched). Not too bad I guess.

It sounds like it was a successful trip despite the weather.
