B. Can you give us details from this year?

My wife and I went in 1998, and had a HUGE time. Watching the ethnic dancing, eating MORE than our weight in sausage and potato pancakes--and even downing with gusto the "armadillo eggs." Mmm...armadillo eggs. They had Staropramen then, a delicious Czech pilsner (yeah, yeah, all you pilsnerphobes out there, let me have it). We went in 2001 and Staro wasn't there; the closest thing to a "good" beer was Shiner Bock. Still, it was cool to see all the costumes, watch the dances, cruise through the craft booths, and enjoy the music (helps if you know how to waltz ;) ).

Sorry. I haven't checked back (no pun intended) since I posted this. Westfest is still pretty much the same as you talked about. It has been a while since I have been, and this was the first time that I stayed for all three days. I was dismayed at the absence of any real Czech pilsners, as you mentioned. The only decent beer there was Shiner Bock, Blonde and Light, and Rolling (ugh) Rock. Other than that...it was a blast.
